Location. The Palmerston Inn Bed and Breakfast is located in Little Italy in Toronto, Ontario. Hip and edgy, the area has been dubbed the art and design district and boasts chic clothing and interior design boutiques, antique dealers, quaint galleries and fine restaurants. There is no shortage of exhilarating nightlife in Toronto and the inn enjoys easy access to much of it. One popular neighborhood, Yorkville, begins just over one mile from the inn and is considered "party central", particularly during the Toronto International Film Festival. The fifth most populous city in North America, Toronto is culturally diverse and features many lush parks and plenty of interesting architecture. The last decade has brought the city fame for being "Hollywood North". Many films have been shot here in recent years, most of the time with Toronto standing in for European or American cities.
Hotel Features. The inn is a Grand Georgian-style mansion that was constructed in 1906. Large pillars and a veranda grace the entry, with natural wood throughout. The comfortable lounge offers reading materials, information on Toronto, cable television and games. A full hot breakfast is served each morning and includes home baked goods, specialty egg dishes and fresh fruit salad.
Guestrooms. Each of the guestrooms features unique decor and comfortable furnishings. Some have private baths, others have stained glass windows or skylights and still others have a fireplace or a balcony.
Expert Tip. Francis Ford Coppola stayed at the Palmerston Inn Bed and Breakfast while his daughter, Sophia, was filming in the city.
The Inn offers tastefully appointed guest rooms with traditional furnishings, some period pieces, telephone, ceiling fan, sink, clock radio, bathrobes and fresh flowers. Most rooms are air-conditioned.
