Location. The Stone Gables Manor Bed and Breakfast is about three miles from the city of Guelph in Campbellville, Ontario. The Niagara Escarpment, limestone cliffs that run for hundreds of miles and are the reason for the Niagara Falls, are about one mile from the property. Vast lawns, gardens, rolling hills and forests surround the inn. Five conservation areas are within 20 miles, allowing visitors to take part in recreational activities like kayaking, river tubing, rock climbing, spelunking and even hot-air ballooning. Guelph has a noteworthy music scene and plenty of shops, restaurants and entertainment venues.
Hotel Features. Timeless stone and cedar architecture combined with the stunning natural environment and meticulous landscaping create a relaxed, rural ambience. A water garden courtyard and waterfall soothe the senses and a canopy of maples and evergreens provide plenty of shade. The Great Room features a fireplace and a collection of art and treasures from around the world, including a Burmese hanging, an Oriental screen and a Turkish Nomadic carpet. Breakfast is served in the Garden Room, which features hand-carved furniture, a Venetian chandelier and oil paintings and overlooks the water garden. Also in the Garden Room is a desk where guests can access the Internet. A gallery is located upstairs where work from Ontario artists is displayed and sold.
Guestrooms. The rooms feature unique decor, fine bedding and comfortable furnishings with private baths. Each of the guestrooms has a fireplace and picturesque views of the property.
Expert Tip. The Wellington Maze is located about seven miles from the inn, just outside of town. The cornfield labyrinth operates seasonally and changes themes each year.
