The Carmel Cove Inn Bed and Breakfast is a tranquil secluded hideaway on the shores of Deep Creek Lake, Maryland's largest and most beautiful fresh water lake. Accommodations at this exceptional mountain lodge are beautifully appointed with attention to the details of comfort. Slumber in this former monastery where a myriad of Carmelite friars once rested. Guests are drawn to this peaceful cove by its tranquility and natural beauty. Be enchanted by majestic mountains, a pristine lake, and exceptional mountain lodgings. The huge great room is the former chapel of the monastery and affords a comfortable common area where guests can meet and compare notes on the myriad of activities the area provides, or find a private nook to peruse the abundance of literature on activities, dining, and sights to see in the area. Here in the great room guests can shoot a game of pool on the antique billiard table, help themselves to a cooling libation from the complimentary stocked guest refrigerator, plug in a movie from the video library, or just curl up by the fireplace with a good book. Play a set on the tennis court, equipment provided. Tackle some trails on the Inn's mountain bikes. Complimentary cross-country and snowshoe equipment is available as well. There is also a complimentary guest beverage bar with beer, wine, and assorted sodas. Various snacks are served throughout the day and evening. A full sumptuous breakfast is served at private window-side tables. The innkeeper is available to offer dining and activity suggestions, reservations, maps, snacks, directions, or to arrange a romantic surprise to make a getaway even more memorable.
All of the rooms are luxuriously appointed with air conditioning, private phone, state of the art flat panel TV with cable and DVD, good reading lights, guides to area activities and dining, fluffy robes, luxurious private baths with decorative tile work and handheld therapeutic massagers, the best bath amenities and hair dryers, welcome bottle of wine to toast an escape from the world, and ample privacy.

Merge onto I-495 North/Capital Beltway toward Maryland and drive for 4.3 miles. Merge onto I-270 Spur North via Exit 38 on the left toward Rockville/Frederick. I-270 Spur North becomes I-270 North, and continue for 29.1 miles. Merge onto I-70 West toward Hagerstown and continue for 52.8 miles. Merge onto I-68 West via Exit 1A on the left toward Cumberland, MD, and continue for 66.9 miles. Merge onto US-219 South via Exit 14A toward Oakland and continue for 18.1 miles. | Although tucked away on a wooded two acres, the inn is in the heart of all Deep Creek Lake activities. Within minutes are all Deep Creek restaurants, nightlife, lake competitions and festivals. A short drive down the shoreline leads to the renowned wisp ski area and its twenty-three trails and nine lifts. Just steps down the wooded walking trail lies the peaceful cove of scenic Deep Creek Lake and the alpine beauty of this fun-filled resort community. Fishing equipment is provided to try catching walleye, perch, chain pickerel, and bass from the Inn's dock. The cove is perfect for swimming or just floating away the day in one of the inner tubes. The cove is no-wake, so speedboats are no bother. To get out on the lake, take one of the Inn's complimentary canoes or paddle boats across the cove to the beautiful sand swimming beaches of Deep Creek Lake State Park which offers picnic areas, hiking trails, a public boat launch, and cross-country ski trails, all steps from the inn.
