Opened in Summer 2006, the Pierre & Vacances 'Le Green Beach' golf resort apartments are located in Port-en- Bassin, set within extensive protected natural gardens and 5 kilometres from Omaha beach. The 19 apartments and 91 houses all extend to terraces and balconies with views of the golf course, and include fully-equipped kitchens for self-catering.
There are two swimming pools (one outdoor and one indoor), with deckchairs and parasols, plus a games area and a sauna. The resort has an information desk, loan service (equipped with socket guards, irons and ironing boards and bed safety rails), plus a repair service on hand. Guests can also go for a walk in the resort's landscaped gardens; the resort has 17 acres of parkland, including a 27-hole golf course. Created in 1986, the Omaha Beach Golf Course ranks among France's top 50 golf courses. This 27-hole facility offers three varied 9-hole golf courses as well as a training bunker, three putting greens and three compact holes. Alternatively, Omaha beach is located just five kilometres away, famous for its D-day landings during WWII, but now a peaceful piece of coastline where sunbathers and swimmers can enjoy in the clear waters of the English Channel.
