Location. Overlooking Victoria Harbour on the south side of Vancouver Island, Spinnakers Brewpub & Guest House is an historic property located in Victoria, British Columbia. A walkway outlines the harbor and provides an excellent way to see some of the city's most popular attractions. The Royal B.C. Museum, touted as one of the top ten museums in the world, is just over one mile from the hotel. Historic castles, beautiful gardens, fine shops, delightful restaurants and lively pubs are spread about the city.
Hotel Features. Constructed in 1884, the main guest house has since been faithfully restored. Each morning freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee or tea, the paper and a basket of freshly baked pastries are delivered to guests. Spinnakers Restaurant overlooks the inner harbor and serves creative West Coast cuisine for lunch and dinner. The Gastro Brewpub features handcrafted ales and delightful dishes made with organic local produce. Spinnakers brews their own malt vinegar and bottles mineral water that bubbles up from an aquifer 225 feet beneath the brewhouse floor. There is a specialty food and spirits retail store located on the property as well.
Guestrooms. The 1884 Heritage House features five guestrooms with period furnishings and original works of art. All of the rooms have fireplaces and four of them feature two-person jetted tubs. The fifth room boasts a relaxing steamer shower. Four garden suites are also available and feature contemporary decor with an Asian flair. Two of the units have fireplaces and all have jetted tubs and scenic patios overlooking the harbor in a garden setting.
Expert Tip. The Pacific Undersea Gardens are about two miles from the inn, and feature a glass-enclosed viewing area where visitors observe some 5,000 creatures, including sharks, wolf eels, starfish, sea anemones and a huge octopus. There are shows every hour, hosted by tour guides with scuba gear and special underwater communications devices.
