Location. The Hotel Ayres de Recoleta is a non-smoking hotel one half block from the Village Promenade and four blocks from the Museum of Modern Art in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Buenos Aires is the birthplace of the tango and is often called "the Paris of South America. A walk through the Recolata neighborhood, with its wide tree-lined streets and marble facades reinforces the city's European appeal. Lying along the Rio de la Plata, an estuary into which flows the Rios Parana and Uruguay, the city maintains it's European heritage. Many attractions await visitors to the area, including the Casa de Gobierno, also known as the Casa Rosada because of its pink hue.
